Papa Doble Singapore
Every experience is a story
Ernest Hemingway was affectionately known as "Papa" in Cuba. When one day he wandered into La Floridita Bar, Havana, Cuba, to use the toilet, he chanced upon a daiquiri created by Constantino Ribalaigua. He is quoted as saying, "that's good, but I prefer it without sugar and with double rum" - so the 'Papa Doble' was born.
Papa Doble Singapore's name takes after this great author and honours Hemingway by taking inspiration from his novels, history, love for bullfighting and folklore.
Helmed by Founder and Managing Partner Andrew Yap, Papa Doble Singapore is a passion project restaurant and bar. This intimate speakeasy experience serves gourmet delights inspired by mediterranean flavours and innovative cocktails paired together to enable an engaging guest experience, while tucked away in the heart of Singapore’s buzzing Keong Saik Road.
